Data Analyst – Music & Streaming Insights

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst with experience in music and streaming data to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with product, business, and senior stakeholders to transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that drive strategic decisions across catalog, playlists, and performance reporting.

Responsibilities

Analyse large volumes of music and streaming data to identify trends, performance drivers, and commercial opportunities.

Build and maintain purpose-driven dashboards related to playlist performance, catalog performance, royalties, and streaming metrics.

Translate raw data into clear insights and recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Support strategic reporting at artist, release, catalog, and territory level.

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across reporting workflows.

Core Skills & Experience

Strong SQL expertise, with the ability to write efficient and well-optimised queries for relational databases (PostgreSQL), including joins, aggregations, and performance-aware querying.

Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex lookup and aggregation formulas (XLOOKUP / INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS), PivotTables, and structured financial or performance analysis.

Bonus: experience with Macros / VBA for automation.

Deep understanding of music industry data, including:

ISRC–UPC relationships

Release structures

Streaming performance metrics (streams, skips, completion rates)

Territory-level reporting

Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights, clearly communicating findings and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.

Hands-on experience building dashboards tailored to music-related insights such as playlist performance, catalog performance, royalties, and streaming analytics.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

Experience making API requests and working with JSON responses.

JavaScript / TypeScript experience, particularly in data-driven or analytics-focused applications.

Experience modelling data in Python (e.g. Pandas, Matplotlib).

Advanced forecasting and trend analysis, including time-series analysis and performance modelling.
