Senior Frontend Developer

Patricia · identity protected · senior · 10 yrs

Stockholm, Sweden

At the age of 13 I got my first computer and immediately I was hooked. All my spare time was spent in chats, on computer games and on building GIF flooded websites. ~Twenty years later, the chats and games were replaced by the love for traveling and exploring the world, but the passion for building websites remained and seem to never be growing old.

I’ve been working professionally as a frontend developer, full-time since 2008.

My biggest passion lies within JavaScript, CSS and HTML. React and Vue are two favorites and are also what I’ve primarily been working with since 2017.

I love to build semantically correct, responsive websites and apps, always accessible on all devices, for everyone – with or without a disability. I am passionate about a11y and SEO, I have a good, detailed eye for design. I strive to write clean, DRY, high-quality code. I am always eager to help improving the way-of-working and optimizing working methods to keep the workflow fast and smooth with as little obstacles as possible. On a UX / backend scale, I enjoying being closer to the UX than backend.

In 2014 I started working remotely as I relocated to Berlin. The first four years I kept my employment in Stockholm and was the only person in a large company who was working remotely. I continued doing so after going freelance in 2018 and even after moving back to Stockholm in 2021. I highly value remote work due to the focus and productivity it brings me compared to working in an office.

Characteristic for me is that I’m very positive, energetic and honest person. I’m goal and solution oriented and love problems to solve. I am very stubborn and never give up until I reach what I want. I’ve got excellent communicating skills and I like environments where speaking your mind is being encouraged. Responsibility is something I truly appreciate – I am equally comfortable in solving things on my own as I am to collaborate with different teams across the company.

A tidy code base is where I thrive. I’m a “cleaning lady”, always tidying up as I move along. Migrating “old stuff” to new modern code is something I (actually) like a lot. I try to think in a holistic way, meaning not only focusing on what’s best for the user and developer, but also for the team and company as whole. These characteristics ensure that my clients are guaranteed all my drive and devotion, leading to pragmatic end results of great quality within set deadlines and milestones.

Experience

  1. Senior Frontend Developer

    2020-01 – 2023-01

At Tradera I was part of the Web Team who were in charge of developing new ideas as well as refactoring legacy code. I was in charge setting up a new frontend foundation CSS framework, implemented great ideas for the frontend workflow and contributed to improved way-of-working both in my team and within the frontend group. When not focusing on React and CSS, I also worked closely with the UX team and helped rebuilding and strengthening both communication and workflow between devs and UX. During these years I went on maternity leave in July 2021 for a year and worked again for Tradera until September 2023 when I once again went on maternity leave.  >> React, TypeScript, CSS-modules, PostCSS, Contentful, Sentry, Testing Library

At Avensia I helped building a new e-commerce site for their client SkinCity. We were a team of two frontenders, UX and backend. I also contributed with my strong knowledge about accessibility – for both the SkinCity project as well as for their internal core template site. When starting I was the only developer in the team who worked remotely. I helped improve the team's way-of-working and when Corona hit, I also contributed with many years of remote-work-knowledge to help get the team up and running fully remotely.  >> React (Redux), Typescript, ES6, CSS-in-JS, EPI Server CMS

I helped with refactoring most of Zmarta's code base and to set up a new CSS/HTML/JS architecture.
